Lezíria Parque Hotel: a stop along the paths to Fátima and S. Tiago de Compostela

The visit to Fatima, the Camino de Santiago... Religious tourism has the longest tradition in most of the world. Pilgrimage routes were, for centuries, some of the most important means of communication and, today, have become an unrivaled tourist attraction in many areas.

The sanctuaries attract thousands of visitors every year, who travel long distances to reach them, sometimes crossing entire countries.

PORTUGUESE PILGRIMAGE ROUTES

In the case of Portugal, there are two major pilgrimage routes that cross the country: the Way of St. James and the pilgrimage route to Fatima.

The Way of St. James is probably the largest religious and cultural tourism route in the world, with several branches crossing the whole of Europe and countless historical and artistic attractions along the way. In Portugal, the Camino enters crosses the country from south to north, passing very close to the capital.

The other Portuguese pilgrimage route is the one that leads to the Sanctuary of Fatima, in the center of the country. It is actually not a single route, but several, among which the four most popular are the Nazaré, the Northern Way, the Carmelite Route and the Tagus Way. The latter partially coincides with the Way of St. James and runs between the Park of Nations in Lisbon and the Sanctuary of Fatima.

STAYING AT LEZÍRIA PARQUE

For those of you who are going to walk the Tagus Way, it is highly recommended that you take some time to get to know Lisbon and its surroundings and gather strength, as it is a stretch of 145 km. Enjoying a relaxing stay in a good hotel can be a wonderful preliminary stage for the pilgrimage. Because religious tourism is not incompatible with comfort, right?

In Vila Franca de Xira, next to the main access roads to the cities of Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Madrid by the A1 and only 20 minutes from Lisbon International Airport, is the Lezíria Parque Hotel, a modern and functional four-star hotel with all the comforts, located very close to the Tagus Estuary Natural Park. And it is a very good option for pilgrims, for two reasons: on the one hand, it is located in the middle of the Way of St. James and very close to the beginning of the Tagus Way to Fatima, and, on the other hand, it has large and comfortable rooms, perfect for groups.

Book your stay at the Lezíria Parque Hotel and enjoy the comfort!
